marni does grandma georgina, but hot

once again, marni has taken us to our grandmas house and pulled out some awkward, frumpy loot. The collection is a genius blend of knee-high tights, swamping frocks, funny fabrics and old-skewl prints.

but we all LOVE frump (when done the right way ofcourse)! so heres a few looks from the new collection, please soak up the lovely prints and awesome composition, the tights, the ski-style gloves, the granny clogs, glasses... okay just stare and look at the rest ok??

so anyways, take it all in, and in the post-to-come AWP will show you how to do the frumpy yet uber-cool look without looking like an insane reject :')
Love the colours, really rich and sumptuous (and HUGGABLE just like grandma)
take note of the cuts-nothing we've taken from the collection is below the knee, and this is important if you're going for oatmeal-chic and not just an old person.
with oatmeal on themselves.
ok.

h&m have flown into a wall?

oh dear, readers. I'm an open minded person, and a lover of ~FASHION~ but when prada bit mens skirts it was WHOA KEWL but now high street designers H&M have included mens skirts in their 2010 collection. I do not think this will become a new magical street trend, especially not with a dream-catcher coat and opaque tights, but we shall see.

Alexander McQueen

A fashion genius who truly rebuilt the aesthetics of fashion, his collections filled me with such joy I can't even describe. The news of his passing took me by surprise and when I saw it on the news, my throat cracked and I was speechless for a few minutes. Every piece of his that walked down a runway showed passion, unparralleled craftmanship and beauty, and a message. He was a brilliant man, a pioneer of his field, and he gave joy to people lives with his completely unique designs. Its all we can do to look back at the brilliance we created and feel better because he lives on in the beautiful clothing he dedicated his life to.

LUELLA LIVES ON

Despite her label going into administration, Luella Bartley is having a clear influence on the high street. Heart cut outs and polka dots are EVERYWHERE, like this red dress from Boohoo and its a fairly positive sign, and suggests that perhaps there's hope for Luella?

Basso&Brooke's RTW Spring 2010

The bestest print in the world?
My heart attack says yes. My favourite dress from Basso and Brooke's stunnin' collection above makes me crave spring. Its so fresh and crisp and clean! I mean look at that apple, i want to eat it. Seeing this is like the Charlie And The Chocolate Factory when the kids see the lickable wall paper, and i can taste it too (i thought that was a cool metaphor because both have got fruit on sorry). The shape is flattering to the body, anyone would look good in this. How AWESOME would this be as a prom dress?

Pastel Coloured Jeans

EXTREME LOVE FOR THIS LOOK!!
I've always been pretty obsessed with pastel colours- the colours of fairy cake icing, story books, and candy floss.
Now they're becoming a pretty big trend on the high street and I'm genuinely excited.

They are the perfect, sweet, easter egg look for spring and I cant wait to get my hands on some pastel coloured jeans, I think they'll look great with just a white, fitted blouse and a cute cardie. I just hope that I wont get mistaken for an easter egg!

why are you so beautiful??

I think I'm in love.
